中新網9月27日電 據新西蘭天維網綜合報道，周二(當地時間27日)下午，新西蘭政府公布了十多年來最大規模的移民季節工增加計劃，以緩解種植業工人短缺問題。
新的RSE(季節性雇主計劃)上限將允許額外3000名工人進入新西蘭從事種植業，總體算下來，每年從太平洋島國引入的季節工數量將達到19,000人，為種植業尤其是葡萄酒行業提供緊缺的勞動力。
移民部長說：“新增加的3000個配額比上一(種植)季增加了19%，由于打工度假者數量不足，導致種植業用工嚴重短缺，同時整個行業也處于強勁增長期?！?/p>
“我們正在聽取行業的意見，并與園藝和葡萄種植行業密切合作，以確保通過激勵當地就業、引入更多工人以及要求改善工作條件來實現適當的平衡?！彼f。
此外，政府對移民工的權益也作出了明確的要求，雇主需要為RSE工人提供病假權益，并且要承諾為工人提供透明、清晰的信息和獨立支持。
移民季節工的工資同樣要符合新西蘭的法規，小時薪不得低于22.1新西蘭元。這是在疫情期間作出的底線。
